Covid Vaccinations No Longer Required

In keeping with the Covid situation, Covid vaccinations are no longer required to train.  Anyone, regardless of vaccination status, can train.

Masks are still required during class.

Corona virus and training update

Due to the current Coronavirus situation, all students and visitors need to show proof of vaccination and wear masks during class.

This is done for the safety and health of all participants and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.

  • Aikido:               Moved to Virtual Only  at 11:30 AM

First Outdoor Classes

Based on more types of businesses opening we will try our first outdoor classes next Sat. May 23rd.
 
The schedule will be the same as our usual class schedule-Energy 9:30, T’ai-chi 10:15, and Aikido 11:30. The protocols will be the one’s previously published except masks will be required. We will also attempt to zoom the Sat. classes and the Tuesday and Thursday classes will be on zoom as we have been doing them. Each person should make their own decision on training and all decisions are respected.

Aikido of Petaluma Outside Training Protocols

Training protocols for outside training during the Coronavirus event.

  • No one should feel pressured to come to an in-person class, it is an individual decision to make by yourself, your family, and doctor
  • Maintain at least 6 feet distance from other students
  • Come to class already in your gi, change in your car, or don’t wear a gi
  • Mask is required
  • Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat and sunglasses if you need them as it will be hot outside
  • No sharing of weapons or physical contact
  • We will attempt to make the class available also on zoom
  • Rubber gloves, hand sanitizer and foot covering will be available if someone needs to go in the school to use the restroom
  • For students without weapons, a loan of a weapon from the dojo will be available until we can train in the dojo again
  • Class content will include weapons work and the in-depth types of practices we are currently doing in the zoom classes
  • Should it rain during class we will suspend the rest of the class

What is Virtual Training?

During this time of Social Distancing Aikido of Petaluma is continuing its training through on-line classes. 

While training online cannot duplicate the contact training in the dojo it provides continuity for the spirit of Aikido and the training community.  

How to attend

We want the training to be open to everyone at any level with a sincere desire to train.  There are 2 ways to gain access to the instructions for joining.

  1. Request to join the Aikido of Petaluma Facebook group
    Once your membership to the group is approved you will have access to the instructions to attend the classes.

    Please include why you want to join, your email address, and your phone number.  We will not use your information for any marketing.
